What owners said after the visit
Rated 4.5 out of 5 across all 24 reviews published on this site.

Every entry below is one customer describing one visit: what the cabinet was doing, what was found behind the grille or at the door, and how the call ended. They are published with a first name and a last initial, which is as much as anyone agreed to have on a public page.
How to read the number
The 4.5 at the top is the plain arithmetic mean of the 24 reviews on this page — not a figure carried over from somewhere else, and not an average of a set you cannot see. If you would rather do the sum yourself, the stars fall like this:
- 5 star 12
- 4 star 12
- 3 star 0
Nothing has been filtered out for being unflattering. The four-star notes are mostly about a part that had to be ordered or a second visit, and the three-star one is about a walkthrough that was too thin. Those are the calls worth reading first, because they describe what happens when a job does not go cleanly.
What a review here cannot tell you
It cannot tell you what your repair will cost. The $129 diagnostic is flat and credited toward the repair if you go ahead with the work. everything after that depends on what the sequence finds, and it is put in writing before any work starts. It also cannot tell you whether your cabinet is worth repairing — that is a reading and a parts-availability question, and it gets answered on the day, at your kitchen, with the model and serial number in hand.
Crosswater Appliance Service works Sub-Zero refrigeration only, out of 32081 and roughly 40 miles around it. If your fault sounds like one of the ones below, the number is here and the sequence every call runs is published in full.

The second ice maker in our pantry was making cubes but never dropping them. The ejector arm had jammed against a slab of frost from a leaking bin seal. He cleared it, changed the seal, and stayed to watch two cycles finish.

We were north for the summer and came home to a warm cabinet and a smell I would rather forget. He still walked the whole sequence instead of guessing, then found the control board damaged after the storm outage and ordered one.

Our undercounter unit at the garage bar could not keep up once August humidity arrived. He measured the clearance behind it, found the exhaust recirculating into its own intake, and vented it properly. Holds temperature now.

Our house is new enough that I was surprised anything had failed. He showed me the cabinet had been pushed too far into its opening at install and could not shed heat. He corrected the setback and it stopped running hot.

Our refrigerator column stopped lighting up and its panel door was swinging wide of the cabinet. He sorted the interior lighting harness and reset the closer so the door pulls flush again. No marks anywhere on the wood panel.

We run a paired freezer and refrigerator column behind flush panels. The freezer was frosting along its back wall. He found the drain heater open, replaced it, and refit the panel so the alignment matched the other door.

The undercounter drawers by our pool door had stopped cooling and were pooling water inside. He found the drain path blocked with lint and the gasket torn on the lower drawer. Cleared, replaced, and it has stayed dry since.

The beverage unit under our island was freezing everything on its top shelf. He changed the setting and swapped a thermistor. It took one follow-up call before it truly settled, but he came back without argument and finished it.

The wine cabinet display read correctly but every bottle felt warm to the hand. He put his own probe on a shelf, proved the display was optimistic by several degrees, and replaced the sensor that was feeding it bad numbers.

Our two columns were reading several degrees apart and one kept alarming at night. He rebalanced the airflow and put in a new damper motor. Good work, but I wish the first visit had covered both cabinets instead of only one.

Our 48-inch built-in was holding freezer temperature but the fresh food side crept into the fifties. He pulled the toe kick, showed me the condenser packed with retriever hair, cleaned it and rechecked airflow before he left.

He found a restriction in the sealed system and was upfront that it meant recovery, repair and a recharge. Parts took longer than either of us wanted, which is the reason for four stars. The work itself was clean and it runs quiet.

The filter indicator would not clear after a replacement. He reset the control and checked the flow rate at the dispenser, which sorted it. I did have to chase the appointment twice before anyone put it on the schedule.

Water at the dispenser slowed to a trickle right after we swapped the filter ourselves. The housing had never seated and the bypass was still partly engaged. He reseated it and showed us how, so we do not repeat the mistake.

Ice was coming out hollow and undersized. He traced it to a partly blocked fill tube and a supply line kinked behind the cabinet since our remodel. It needed a second visit for the tube, but it has been right ever since.

Water was pooling on the floor overnight. He found the supply fitting behind the cabinet pinched at install and weeping. He replaced the fitting and dried the base pan, though he left the toe kick panel for me to clip back on.

He did find the fault in the wine unit, a circulation fan that had stopped turning, and it works again. But I had to ask twice for an account of what he had done, and the walkthrough at the end was thinner than I expected.

The cabinet was cycling almost constantly and the kitchen was loud at night. He put a straightedge on the door seal first, found the top corner standing off, adjusted the hinge, and the run time settled inside a day.

The ice maker had quit filling altogether. He checked the inlet valve and then the saddle valve under the sink, which had corroded nearly shut. Both were replaced, the line flushed, and he had me discard the first two batches.

The compressor was running almost without stopping and frost was creeping up one freezer wall. He checked the coil and the door before going anywhere near the sealed system, then confirmed a low charge, repaired it and recharged.

The ice smelled of the cabinet and was clumping in the bin. He changed the filter, cleaned out the bin and chute, and pointed out that the bin door was no longer sealing so warm air kept reaching the cubes. Plain and clear.

The wine cabinet in the butler pantry stopped holding its lower zone and the bottles were sitting warm. It came down to a failed zone sensor, not the compressor I was dreading, and he explained why the upper zone was unaffected.

Two other outfits had already told us to replace the whole unit. He took pressures in front of me, walked me through the readings, and showed a slow leak at the evaporator rather than a dead compressor. Repaired once the part landed.

The unit is original to the house and I assumed we were shopping for a replacement. He was straight about what the cabinet has left in it, fixed the evaporator fan motor that had seized, and told me what to watch rather than upsell.
