About

Independent Sub-Zero service for St. Johns County

A technician kneeling at an opened service panel with a replacement fan motor in both hands and the failed one on the floor beside him.
The part comes out of the van only after the sequence has said which part it is.

Crosswater Appliance Service is an independent repair company working on Sub-Zero refrigeration, wine storage and undercounter units across Nocatee and St. Johns County. We do not service other brands.

Why one brand

Sub-Zero refrigeration is a narrow, deep speciality. Stocking the parts, learning the service positions and knowing the failure order on one line of equipment produces a better first-visit fix rate than covering everything. We do not service other brands, and we say so rather than letting you find out at the door.

Why the order is published

Because it is the part of a repair you cannot see and cannot check. Anyone can say they are thorough. Publishing the 6 stages, in the order they are run, means you can ask at the door which stage we are on and what the last one ruled out — and it means we cannot quietly start at the expensive end on a slow week.

The order also reflects where the faults actually are in this part of Florida. Condensers work against high ambient heat for eight months of the year, doors carry custom panels and a great deal of humidity, and around 68 thunderstorm days a year — plus the multi-day outages that came with Matthew in 2016, Irma in 2017 and Helene in 2024 — put a load on control electronics that the mechanical refrigeration never feels.

Credentials

  • EPA Section 608 certified technicians — required to open, recover from and recharge a sealed refrigeration system.
  • Licensed and insured for work in St. Johns and Duval counties.
  • Genuine OEM parts only.

Independence

Crosswater Appliance Service is an independent appliance repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Sub-Zero or its parent company. All brand names and model numbers are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the appliances we service.

Practically, that means three things. We buy parts on the open market rather than through a manufacturer channel, so we say what we warrant ourselves. We publish our price before you call rather than quoting on the doorstep. And we answer to you, which is why the estimate arrives in writing before a part is ordered.
